Free online RPG games are role playing games that can be played over an internet connection. Now you may have been aware of that, and are looking for a few good candidates to try, or you have a solid background of an online RPG but are tired and want to try something else. This article aims to cover just those.
Looks like everyone is looking for a good free online game, and there are many if someone knows where to look. I have spent countless hours playing one of them before I got hooked on to World of Warcraft, but it’s absolutely not necessary to pay $15 a month to have fun. I have had fun before WoW am having fun 5 months after I quit playing it. Well I am more of a casual player now, because I don’t really have the time to devote to gaming, but I’m still firing up one or another free game just to kill some time.
Cabal Online is from Korea. You may be unaware of the fact but South Korea is the capital of online gaming and one of four kids want to be a hardcore gamer when they grow up. Rather scary, just as scary as some of their games are. Cabal online in fact is one of the better iterations of the Korean model.
Most of their games are about go here, go there and kill fifteen hundred thousand goblins to gain a level. Most of the games are infested with cheaters and that puts off a lot of people from trying these games, but Cabal online is worth a shot. It is still grinding (Grinding is when you go around and kill the same group of monsters again and again to gain some powers, advance a level or get ingame currency) heavy, but not as much as other games in the genre.
There is an unique combo system that eases the pain a little. You can chain up actions and grinding becomes a matter of skill rather than patience. It is pretty fun if you give it a try, it’s free and there are a lot of players playing it.
Maple story is a cute little scrolling RPG from… yes, you have guessed. Korea. Your character can advance levels, get items and kill the bad guys. There are dozens of different character builds to go for and it gets addictive after a while. Try it if you aren’t put off by the side-scrolling 2D graphics. Other than that it’s rather decent.
Runescape. The all time favorite. This game has been around for a decade and according to the Guinness Book of World Records it is the most popular massively multi player online game that is actually free. The last time I tried it was in 2005 so there I don’t really have any current information as to how it looks like now, but back then it was a fun game.
Apparently you can play it right from your your browser so I don’t see a good reason why would anyone skip it. Other than having played it, obviously.
If you are looking for a free online RPG, you are probably better off trying those games outlined above, but giving MPOGD.com a click is probably also a good idea. They have all the online games online, but filtering just the game you would like to play is probably not the easiest thing ever.
